Welcome to
Boynton Beach Florida
There's nothing but the Atlantic
Ocean between Boynton Beach, Florida and Freeport in the Bahamas.
This beachside city is the third largest in Palm Beach County
and its history goes back to 1894.
Civil war major Nathan Boynton
came to the location and was so impressed that he built a summer
home for his family ñ the Boynton Beach Hotel ñ
where they could enjoy the permanent sunshine and the dazzling
beaches.
Other settlers soon moved to
the area. The wonderful climate had other advantages, as Boynton
Beach was a great place to grow mangoes, pineapples, citrus,
tomatoes and other fruit and vegetable crops.
With the Florida East Coast Railroad
newly on stream it was easy to ship this produce across the country.
Today, Boynton Beach has moved
beyond its roots as a farming town to become a place where business
and industry thrive.
In addition to agribusiness,
the city is active in the healthcare, aerospace, tourism and
ICT sectors. It's a diverse community where snowbirds mix with
year round residents.
Boynton Beach is midway between
West Palm Beach and Boca Raton and not far from the Loxahatchee
National Wildlife Refuge.
Visitors to the area also have
easy access to Florida's Space Coast and Treasure Coast, with
attractions such as wreck diving and Cape Canaveral. With no
shortage of attractions in and around Boynton Beach, you won't
run out of places to explore, and there's plenty of entertainment
too. For nightlife, check out the clubs in West Palm Beach and
Boca Raton. Here's a guide to what's on offer in beautiful Boynton
