Attractions and Things to Do in Cocoa Beach Florida
If you're there at the right
time, you can watch a space shuttle launch from the comfort of
your spot on the beach.
Even if you do, don't miss the
chance to visit the Kennedy Space Center. It's well worth spending
a day there. At the visitors' complex you can see how shuttles
are prepared for launch, experience a launch in a full size replica,
see old shuttles and explore interactive exhibits.
You will also get the chance
to meet an astronaut. This is one tour that will be fun for the
whole family. To complete the experience, be sure to watch one
of the spectacular night time launches.
Next, move from the man-made
to the natural and experience Cocoa Beach with an eco-tour. Cocoa
Beach has a diverse eco system as it is a meeting place for sub-tropical
and temperate climates.
It's a great place to watch sea
turtles, see cranes and other birds, view the lagoons and find
out about the 50 endangered species that make their home in this
region.
Take a kayak through the Thousand
Islands, visit the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge or
follow a nature trail.
Cocoa Beach isn't far from Orlando,
so you can take break from eco-tourism and enjoy a day at the
park ñ the theme park. With Disney World, Sea World, Universal,
MGM and Epcot all close by, there's no excuse for missing them.
There's also plenty to do in Cocoa Beach for those who enjoy
deep sea fishing and golf.
