Welcome to
Cocoa Beach Florida
Cocoa Beach, Florida lies on
a barrier island between the Banana River Lagoon and the Atlantic
Ocean.
The formation of these islands
is believed to result from the work of a powerful hurricane around
1,000 years ago.
Cocoa Beach is also bordered
by Cape Canaveral and Crescent Beach and came to prominence when
the space program was at its height in the 1960s. Back then,
the city held parades in honor of the astronauts.
These days, visitors are likely
to be there for a different reason. Just six miles long and one
mile wide, Cocoa Beach offers visitors the chance to indulge
in every activity from finding out more about space to engaging
in eco-tourism.
Thousands of part time residents
flock to this idyllic location each year, trebling the city's
population. In addition, millions visit the city to enjoy its
delights.
The weather is only one of the
attractions of Cocoa Beach. This city has year round sunshine
and year round warmth. In the winter months, a temperature of
around 72F is normal, while in summer the temperature rises to
around 91F.
Cocoa Beach is a popular retirement
destination, with many of its retired residents moving a short
distance from their old jobs in the space program. As the main
destination on Florida's Space Coast, Cocoa Beach has a lot to
offer, including a well developed surfing industry.
Visitors and residents alike
can enjoy the wide range of attractions, entertainment and nightlife
that Cocoa Beach can offer. This city truly has something for
everyone.
