Attractions and Things to Do in Hollywood Florida
One of the main attractions in
the Hollywood area is the Anne Kolb Nature Center. Located at
West Lake Park, this 1,500 acre mangrove eco-system is a must
see.
There are three paddling channels
which you can explore by canoe or kayak to see birds, crabs,
alligators and other wildlife. If you prefer to stay on land,
then take a walk along one of the two boardwalks across the mangroves
or check out the tower that overlooks the area. There are aquariums,
exhibits and photos to make this a truly memorable experience.
Still on foot, experience the
beauty of Hollywood by following the Broadwalk. On one side you
have shops, cafes, hotels and restaurants; on the other you have
the Atlantic coastline and six whole miles of it.
Whether you want to walk, run,
jog or rollerblade, you wonít get tired of the view here.
Take some time out and relax on a lounger at the beach, or join
a game of beach volleyball or paddleball if youíre feeling
energetic.
To savor the authentic Hollywood
experience, step away from the beach and visit the historic downtown
area, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Art and Culture Center of
Hollywood is another interesting place to visit, with exhibitions
and performances all year round. Other attractions in the area
include the 56-acre Hollywood North Beach Park, where you might
spot a sea turtle if you're lucky, and the Brian Piccolo Park
near Fort Lauderdale.
