Attractions and Things to Do in Key West Florida
There's plenty for salsa enthusiasts
to do in Key West, before they attend a Latin dance show, Cuban
theme party or Latin theme party.
The San Carlos Institute is dedicated
to preserving this history of Cuban language and customs. It's
an educational and nostalgic trip that offers something for the
whole family.
For another side of history,
check out the winter home of President Harry S Truman. It's well
preserved, with a lot of original items, and the tour guide is
wonderful.
Salsa enthusiasts who love nature
will enjoy Audubon House and Tropical Gardens.
The location is exquisite and
the plants and flowers are truly beautiful. There are original
Audubon engravings, including several first editions, and the
guided tour of the house is well worth the price of admission.
The Key West Butterfly and Nature
Conservancy is another place to while away the hours. It's small,
but perfectly formed, with hundreds of beautiful butterflies.
Even salsa fans on a budget can
enjoy the amazing tropical Caribbean sunset from Mallory Square.
It's a must-see in Key West.
Get there at least an hour before
sunset so you can browse the items on offer by the street vendors.
You will see magicians, acrobats, sword swallowers and other
street performers. If you're lucky, you may even spot a mermaid.
The atmosphere is tremendous,
and it's a great end to the day's activities in Key West.
