There is year round entertainment
in Sarasota, so before you visit at Latin dance show, Cuban theme
party or Latin theme party, take some time to enjoy what's on
offer.
Salsa enthusiasts who are in
the mood for music and dancing will enjoy the wide range of musical
events.
For blues, check out the food
and music at Giving Hunger the Blues in July or the soulful sounds
of the Sarasota Blues Festival in November.
April is the time for food and
wine at the annual Florida Winefest and Auction. Salsa fans will
enjoy sampling the wines on offer.
One of the big events of the
year is the Sarasota County Fair, held in March. You can see
pigs race, enjoy gymnastics displays, view some big cats and
alligators and enjoy food, music and fashion in this ten day
extravaganza.
When that's over, it's almost
time for the annual Florida International Air Show where modern
and vintage planes take to the skies. Have a laugh at the Sarasota
Comedy Festival in May.
The entertainment scene really
heats up towards the end of the year. In September and October
you can enjoy fine cuisine at the Taste of Sarasota Festival.
This includes a cook off between
two leading chefs. In November, check out the Cine World Film
Festival for the best films from the festivals in New York, Toronto
and Cannes.
There are lectures and book signings
at the Sarasota Reading Festival, also in November. Round out
the month by viewing floats and bands at the Venice Holiday Parade,
and end the year by viewing the Sarasota Christmas Boat Parade.
