the 16th century that Europeans first set foot in it.
Sarasota lies on Sarasota Bay
and includes several of the Florida Keys within its environs.
The keys separate the bay from the Gulf of Mexico.
It's got year round sunshine
and a tropical Caribbean feel, with average temperatures in the
mid 70s to mid 80s. The area was the winter home of the famous
Ringling Brothers Circus.
